General Practitioner

Dear GP candidate,

Welcome to Jubilee Street Practice, we would love to have you on board. We are a friendly bunch who share a passion for health equality and delivering clinically excellent care to our diverse patient population of 15,000 patients. We are seeking a qualified GP to join our teaching practice, who shares our values and is looking to expand their skillset. Closing date for applications: Ongoing.

About the post:

  • Salary up to £11k per session (plus paid MDU membership) depending on clinical experience and skills.
  • Flexibility around fellowship/academic/part-time roles/teaching opportunities.
  • From 2-6 clinical sessions per week with some flexibility around remote working and childcare needs.
  • 6 weeks of annual leave + 1 week of study leave per year pro rata.
  • Group working environment – you will not be stuck alone in a room all day!
  • Daily, catered lunch with the clinical team and a morning coffee round.
  • Support to take on clinical leadership roles or commissioning positions.
  • Sessional protected admin time.

  • At our last CQC inspection, Jubilee Street Practice was rated as Outstanding. We have embedded Quality Improvement methodology to deliver bottom-up change and real multi-disciplinary engagement.
  • We are committed to working with the local community via our JSP Wellbeing Project (including exercise classes, social hubs and gardening outside the practice).
  • Doctors have their own clinical rooms assigned to see patients face-to-face, but are invited to spend the rest of the day working in our Patient Triage Centre (PTC) to take calls, do admin tasks and discuss cases with colleagues.
  • We are committed to teaching medical students, nursing students, GP Trainees and other AHPs, and feel that sharing our experience with enthusiastic learners keeps us fresh and on our toes.
  • We work collaboratively with the Tower Network PCN, and deliver Enhanced Services offering increased continuity of care.

Practice Nurse

Dear nurse candidate,

Jubilee Street Practice is looking for a practice nurse to provide nursing services to patients of the practice, including treatment, screening, health promotion and advice within the professional competence of the post holder. (Extra training will be provided before new duties are undertaken). The post holder will work in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

Lead on the development of comprehensive practice nursing services for a defined practice population in collaboration with GP colleagues and the practice team.

Develop the practice as a gold standard educational environment.

Work independently without direct supervision.

 Closing date for applications: September 27 2023.

About the post:

Provide nursing treatments to patients in participation with general practitioners or independently to agreed protocols, to include: cervical screening, wound care, urine tests, ear care and advice, health checks, childhood, travel and routine adult immunisations and advice following locally agreed Patient Group Directions (PGDs) within the surgery, and where appropriate in patient homes or in the community.

Provide general and specific health screening/promotion to the practice population (within agreed protocols) with referral to general practitioners as necessary.

Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments with referral to a general practitioner as necessary.

Demonstrate and teach patients, as appropriate, principles of care and procedures, working towards their independence and self-care.

Maintain supplies and equipment used.

Maintain accurate patient records and statistics

Administer drugs and vaccines by any route, according to NMC, NHSE and Practice policies and guidelines.

Mon – Fri 08.00 – 18:30

Pease note: During the 8-8:30am period Mon-Fri and on Fridays 12:30-1:30pm our telephone lines are switched off and our doors are closed to allow team handovers and updates. Patients can still contact us at these times, however, as our online consultation service remains open and our reception team are at the desk and able to answer urgent queries from patients via our door buzzer system.
